The application of the tamper evident security seal or tape will determine the form and characteristics of the product to be used.

For example if a security seal or tape is to be used on a permanent surface then it will need to be removable without residue. If on the other hand the surface that the security seal or tape is to be used on is disposable, then the residue is not an issue. 

The surface material that the security seal or tape will be used on is a major factor in product selection. Examples of other issues for consideration include size, colour, printability, unique numbering, barcoding and the method by which tampering is highlighted.
